1892         George Lohmann and Bill Lockwood took over 100 wickets each in the 16 County Championship matches.
1893 Arthur Shrewsbury is 1st to score 1,000 runs in Test Cricket England won their fifth successive Ashes series at home, only a year and a half after the Australians had conquered the Ashes with a 2–1 victory in Australia.

1895   WG Grace scores 1,000 runs in May, and reaches his 100th hundred.

1899   Australia won the second Test at Lord's, and the series 1–0. AEJ Collins scores 628 not out in a junior house match at Clifton College, the highest individual score in any match. Sussex' Ranjitsinhji became the first batsman to hit 2000 runs in a Championship season
